Watch It!

I’ve come to the reluctant conclusion that my ego is getting a bit too big for it’s britches–again. Must carefully watch it and curb it. It’s hard though: I don’t want to be overconfident, but neither do I want to be cowed. Hopefully that balance comes with life experience but for now I’ve got to be careful less I misstep. Kind of reminds me of the New Jedi Order series of Star Wars novels. In Balance Point Jacen Solo has a vision that causes him to fear misstepping and thus he withdraws from use of the Force for the first time only returning to save the life of a loved one. By the Unifying Force he has learned enough to stand firm as his grandfather advises him. I think that when I get to the point where I can stand firm I will be a lot better off in life. Now all I have to figure out is how to get there…

  1. Um you can but I'm not going to do it. I don't think you've ever completely understood that reading fantasy/sci-fi such as Star Wars, Dragonriders of Pern, Harry Potter, etc. helps me deal with and make sense of the real world. They are invaluable tools in fighting anxiety, keeping my sanity, and giving me models upon which to build. Star Wars probably helps the most–which is why it is one of my favorite series. So no Mom–Star Wars will remain, and will HELP me interact in the real world.
