Read, Watch, Listen – Resources for Emancipation Day in Canada

August 1 marks the annual Emancipation Day in Canada, observing the anniversary of the abolition of slavery across the British Empire. Unfortunately, there remains a popular narrative that racism in Canada is nothing compared to the USA. Listening to the voices of any BIPOC person in Canada will quickly put lie to this assumption.
