Poem: Failing

Aiming
Attempting
Always trying
Always failing
I stumble
I miss the mark
I do my best
But I can’t achieve
What I’m aiming for
Should I keep trying
Knowing that the effort
Is doomed before I begin?
Or would it be the wiser course
To give up and keep silent
Keep still
Take back all I ever said
All that makes me me
For the purpose of never stepping untrue
Inaction or action
Tact and diplomacy
Or doing what I feel is right?
Regardless of the fallout
The first path is hard
I’m a stubborn ass
The second path is hard
I’m not an armored shell
I have a heart
I am capable of choosing
But what to choose
Where no option presents a win?
