Poem: Politics

Room full of squabbling children
Pretending to be adults
Chaos and disorder
God give us one to save their souls
Room with throne at center
One person to guide the way
Too much power in one frail form
Of flesh and blood and bone
Room of small group
Men and women
From all classes
Checks and balances
Is democracy really
The lesser of evils?
Or is there another way?
