Poem: The Darkness

The darkness seeks
My life to take
To swallow whole
My precious soul
To break my will
Through constant pain
To make me dark
Fore’er more
I draw the line
I stand firm and tall
With God’s help
To the light I hold dear
Though darkness seduces
Ne’er to be fully banished
I make the choice
To stay true to light
No matter the price
