Poem: Friendship Through Time

Slipping, Sliding, Spiraling
Out of control
Everything I know is changing
Nothing is absolute
The simple days of black and white
Have gone away, never to return
As I stare into the future
That which I once thought eternal
Begins to fade away
Darkness reigns as the bright light
Of friendship wanes
Teachings learned in hallowed halls
Where many feet have tread
Are all that holds the darkness back
Responsibility, Discipline, Empathy
Choice
There! In the distance
A light shines bright
New bonds forged, old bonds renewed
One glimmer of light can hold back the dark
Many lights can change your life forever
