Poem: You Will Not

I will not let you
Force me down
I will not let you
Demean me
I will not let you
Make me lose myself
I will not let you
Treat me wrong
I will not let you
Do these things
That you have no right to do
I will not permit you
To do anything that harms me
Or those I love
You stand on shifting ground
If you wish to keep
The bond between us strong
You better move to surer ground
Or have a hole in your soul
Sparks fly in your eyes
A pain that will be with you
Once you do grow up
