Poem: Delay

I grow tired
Of their postponements
I wait for the day
I can make my own way
You keep me
From reaching my potential
You hold me down
A blackball on my destiny
You must let go
It is a natural process
I can grow no longer
In your protective embrace
Stop delaying
Let me say my piece
Let me realize my potential
Let me fulfill my destiny
Let me grow
Let
Me
Go
