Poem: The Vow

Beaten
Battered
Bruised
Weary of mind and body
I have gone
And I have returned
It is a time to heal
Gathering my courage
I play the only card I have left
Take the only chance I can see
I vow to follow Her ways
I extend an open hand
She wraps me in Her warm embrace
Now she guides me
Aids me
Teaches me
Protects me
She is loving but firm
Caring yet strong
She shows me my fate
And assure me the price
Will be worth it in the end
In return I honor my vow
Follow Her ways
And find my peace
