What is the price I pay
For following my heart?
Is my destiny filled with pain
Loneliness among these stars?
Am I to spend m life alone
Adrift in this black sea?
Should I take comfort
In being there
For those I love
And who I hope love me?
Is this the price
For swearing to follow God
Wherever She may lead?
If this be so
If the price I pay
Is ne’er to take a lover:
I pay it gladly
For the good I do
By being who I must be.
