Poem: I’m Sorry That I Love You

I’m sorry that I love you
I will only cause you pain
I’m sorry that I love you
I am not a great man
I cannot tell you of my love
I bear a burden great
A secret darkness in my heart
A struggle in my soul
Twixt the darkness and the light
Despite this everlasting battle
This struggle that makes me marked
I hold a secret hope
That you would join your light to mine
Share our burdens great
Together stand against the darkness
Love guiding the way
