Poem: The Darkness Rose

The Darkness rose up today
Thick and powerful
And strong.
Almost overpowered me
Almost overwhelmed me.
Very nearly drowned me
Snuffing out my light
Swallowing in sea of black.
I cried out to the Lord,
“How do I escape?
How do I go on?
Help me find my way!”
The Lord answered me,
“Step by step
Moment by momen.t
Keep walking
Keep breathing.
You will find the path.”
Hope stirred anew in me
I knew the Lord was with me.
Though I cannot see
The end of the struggle
I can stay alive
Trust in the Lord
To guide my way.
