Poem: Transitions

These past few weeks
My world has turned
Upside-down
Inside out.
Routines and rhythms
Certainties and guideposts
Dissolved into chaos.
I am adrift at sea
No starts to guide my way;
I am lost in a dark forest
Only my heartbeat to affirm
I’m still alive.
This is a time of transitions
Unsure how or when
I’ll find my way out.
Hoping against hope
That love, hope, and faith
Will see me through
To wherever I’m next bound.
