Poem: Brotherhood

I’ve known great friends in my short life
The greatest there can be
I’ve known love and support
Tears and pain yet something
Was absent still
A gaping hole in my life
That only now has been filled
I know now the joys of brotherhood
With those not of my blood
I know the fun that can be had
The pain and laughter both
A necessary part in my life’s tale
As I act out my part in this world’s play
