Poem: Tired Young Man

His eyes are old
His face is young
His bones feel weary
He’s been fighting too long
His years on this earth have been short
His heart is darkened
By his shadow side
The one that whispers
Doubts and fears
And promises of repercussions
All day long
His soul contains
A knowledge deep
Of purpose and of price
And though sometimes
He screams in desperation
He knows he is doing what he must
And what he must do
Only he can do
