She is amazing.
Her heart is large enough
To hug the world.
The Spirit is close to her
And she is wise and loving.
I asked her
To be one with me
She turned me down gently.
Yet though she turned me down
I cannot frown
For I love her still.
I will not say
I’ll always love her
For the future is not mine to know.
I will say though
That now there is no other
In my heart or in my mind.
And though I may
Be cursed for a fool;
And though I may
Be sadly disappointed;
My hope remains
Small and burning bright
Buried deep within.
It will most likely
Die in vain.
And perhaps
My love will be transformed.
But for now these two
Hope and love
Burn small and sheltered
Steadily on.
