Fan Poetry: Star Wars

Note: This is the second in a series of poems for a variety of fandoms that I’ve written over the years. This collection deals with the some of my favorite species and of course the Jedi and the Sith.

Falleen
Your scent compels me
Your wiles ensnare me
Your body excites me
I am eager to meet your amours
Twi’lek
Green, Yellow, Red or Blue
Sensuous lekku hung over shoulder
Agile movements
Dancing eloquently
Slick with sweat
Movements, glances, phrases
That promise so much
Seductive temptress
Sweet, sweet language
Cunning mind, lateral thinking
Strong will
I crave to know more
Togruta
Colourful patterns
Hunter’s habits
Quick and graceful
Lethal and true
I wish to hunt with you
Jedi
Starting off young
Learn the basics
Skills of blade and Force
Know how to serve the light
And know the true
Then be chosen
By a mentor
Transfer theory to practice
Learn discipline and truth
Of life, of philosophy, of Force
Once you’re ready
Face the fire
Next you are on your own
Independent
Free to choose
Will you use the Force
Or resort to blade
Perhaps balance the two
When you are ready
Choose a young one
Teach them what
They need to know
When they are ready
They face the fire
And you become
A leader
Master of all you survey
Sith
Starting off
Learning blade and Force
How to draw strength from conflict
The ways to spread the darkness
At the foot of your mentor
When you’re ready
Grow in power and independence
Go out and travel
Your mentor’s hand
Next you slay your mentor
And in so doing
Fulfill your destiny
And take a student as your own
Then you die
Killed by that student
A perpetual cycle of darkness
