Poem: True Victory

I was walking
In the night.
Stumbling
Through the dark.
I cried out to the Lord
In anguish and despair.
It seemed too much
My heart was
Full with pain .
The Lord reached out
Wrapped me
In Her embrace.
I tried to shrug her off
Not to be consoled.
She said to me,
“My dear child
You’re losing the battles
But winning the war”.
Suddenly
Chaos became order
Everything fit into place.
My heart was full
Of love and joy.
I felt
The truth
Of Her words.
I knew what was
True victory.
