Poem: 27 Approaches

The clock is ticking
Days passing by
27 fast approaches
As summer nears an end.
What a year it has been
Filled with darkness
Constantly reminded
How far I have to go.
Wish I were better
Stronger
More loving.
Approaching my birthday
Feeling very alone.
Yet I do have
People who love me
My friends and my family.
I try to hold on
To faith
Hope and love.
I fear I am doing
More harm than good
But trust in the Lord
To make that decision.
Turn my feelings
To a great purpose.
So as I approach
A new year of life
I plead to the Lord
To make it a good one.
Help me find love
Follow the light.
