Poem: See Through You

You stand
In front of the cameras
Square in the eyes of the nation.
You speak
What you think the people want to hear.
You hide the truth
Behind assumptions and misunderstandings
Hoping that people will not see past
The mask that you present.
You believe that ignorance and fear
Will allow you to gain
The power you so desire.
I see through you
Through your lies
Through your mask.
I am not alone.
We see through you.
We will call you out.
We seek the injustices you hide
Bring them into the light.
Strip off your mask
Let people see the monster beneath.
This is your notice
A warning from the servants of the Light.
Tread carefully.
We are watching.
We are not deceived.
We will hold you to account.
