Tears well Throat clenches I struggle to Hold on Against the accusing Stares The battle is A hard one But fight it I will Because I can

When the music blares When the crowds grow too strong When the darkness closes in When my defenses are insufficient When my own mind turns on me When my feelings need to pour I write poetry And so I do

I feel Out of place Isolated from The majority I try to keep Strong and on course Yet the pressure Is hard to bear I shall shoulder the load And stand alone ‘Til others stand with me

Conflict Feelings overwhelm Try to fight it Try to rise above it Try to be the better man Yet something in me Can’t help but be Bitter and resentful Mistrusting I know these Dark feelings must Not gain control Yet the battle Is a hard one One I’ll keep fighting ‘Til love finds a way
