Poem: Interdependency

I walk through the park
The forest and the trees.
I feel the energy
The force connecting all things.
Sadness wells in me
That so many deny this truth.
They preach independence
Autonomy and self-determination.
They push for unlimited growth
They say pursue happiness.
Happiness is good
Suffering is bad.
Growth is good
Restraint is bad.
How blind they are!
A reckoning is coming.
Soon
We will all be reminded
We are
Interdependent
Vulnerable.
That is not weakness
That is our greatest strength.
So long as we walk
The path of love.
