Poem: Struggle To Rise

I struggle to rise
To throw off the covers
Boldly face the world
Fear keeps me abed
It saps my strength
Clouds my mind
Paralyzes my body
The burden is too much
I am compelled to sink
Back into the dark
Morning after morning
I fight to wake
Each time I succumb to fear
I may be beaten
I am not defeated
I will continue to fight
To struggle to rise
One day I will succeed
One day I will master my fear
Rise with ease
