Poem: Job Search

Another day
Another lack of dollar.
Time slips away
Searching the Web
For seeds of hope.
Darkness limits
Everywhere I turn
I am confronted by disability.
“Come home”
My mother says to me
But knowledge of health
Knowledge of need
Keeps me away.
I search some more
Despair grows
Frustration mounts.
“Why can’t I be normal?”
I cry.
“It serves a purpose.”
The Lord says to me.
So on I go.
Keeping busy
Keeping healthy
Building strength
Building resilience.
I hold on to hope
That one day
The cloud will clear
And the sun will shine.
