Poem: Love Myself Right

I lie on my back
Gloriously nude
Music sets the mood.
I feel tense
Animal nature calls
There’s no time like tonight
To love myself right.
I start slow
Gentle and smooth
Hips thrust
Fist pumps
As images fill my head.
Pressure builds
The tempo speeds
Breath quickens
Sweat drips
Pulse beats.
All my pain
All my loneliness
Is consumed
By holy fire.
The end is nearing
Energy flowing
Body moving.
Finally
The moment of release;
Peace comes in its wake.
I lay
Quiet and spent.
Grateful
For my body
Grateful
For release.
Longing
For love
Longing
For connection.
Filled with curious mix
Of hope
Pain and love
I fall into peaceful sleep.
