Poem: All I Can Offer

I can’t offer
A body
Muscled in extreme.
I don’t possess
Confidence in abundance.
I can’t promise
A steady job
Or money in perpetuity.
All I can offer
Is my love;
My faith;
My hope.
I can promise
To never give up;
To always be
Willing to listen;
To ever be
Fully and completely
Honest and true.
Is that enough
For you to
Take a chance on me?
Can that get us through
My darkness and my pain?
All I can do
Is hope and trust
That one day
The answer will be
