Poem: Times Of Pain

In the times
When bones grow weary
Muscles ache
Soul, heart, and mind
Are clouded by darkness.
Entire being
Filled with pain.
All you want to do
Is cease to feel.
Don’t give up!
Hold on.
Practice hope
Faith and love.
Fight to live.
In the day
Find work to do.
Find ways to rest.
Move your body
Until the Spirit fills you.
At night
Reach out to God.
Stretch your legs
Rub the pain away.
Then fall asleep
And do it all again.
Know in your heart
That there is reason to hope
For love always wins.
