Poem: The Candle

I have a candle
Burning inside of me
Steady and small
But true.
Though the winds howl;
Though the rain pours;
Though the storm rages;
And though
All the forces of darkness
Aims to blow
My candle out:
My candle burns on
Holding back the dark.
I long for the day
When love will feed the flame
Transform my small candle
Into a blazing sun.
